Payment system Revolut has suspended services for Ukrainian users

In early April 2025, the popular financial platform Revolut announced that it would suspend service for new customers from Ukraine. This came as a surprise to many users who actively used the Revolut app for international transfers, currency exchange, and online payments in European countries.

Back in February 2025, we published the news that Revolut had become officially available for Ukrainians. At that time, the company actively supported Ukrainian citizens, simplified registration for IDPs, and offered special conditions. However, the situation has changed."

What is the reason for the termination of customer service from Ukraine?

According to official information, Revolut has stopped registering Ukrainians because it is reviewing its policy regarding countries where the company has not yet received a full license to provide financial services. As of today, Ukraine is not on the list of supported jurisdictions, so registration of new users based on Ukrainian documents has been temporarily suspended.

Since February 2025, Revolut has been operating in Ukraine with limited functionality and planned to obtain a license from the NBU by the end of the year. However, as the National Bank of Ukraine reported on February 27, the company has not submitted official applications for a license.

What are the implications for Ukrainian users?

  • Existing accounts opened before 2025 are still operating normally.
  • Some users who registered after February 2025 are already receiving notifications about the upcoming closure of their accounts and the need to withdraw funds within the specified period.
  • Revolut has stopped registering Ukrainians, and therefore opening new accounts for Ukrainians is temporarily impossible - until changes in Revolut policy or obtaining an official license in Ukraine.
