Company Name

The company name must end with a word, expression or abbreviation that reflects its organizational and legal form.

Authorized Capital

The minimum share capital for a KFT-type company is HUF 3,000,000, which is approximately EUR 7,800.

Director

At least one natural person is required for registration, without residency requirements.

Shareholders

At least one natural or legal person is required, and there are no residency requirements.

Financial Reporting

KFT companies are required to keep accounting records and submit an balance sheet annually. An audit is required if the KFT company has 1. Turnover in the last 2 years of HUF 300,000,000. 2. The number of employees is more than 50.

Taxation

The corporate tax rate for KFT companies is 9%. Municipal tax is 2% (depending on the city of registration). Standard VAT rate is 27%.

Choosing the name and form of the company

A limited liability company (KFT) is the most convenient form of business in Hungary. Before its registration, it is necessary to submit a request to the register of companies to check the availability of the name. After the name is confirmed, the preparation of corporate documents begins.
