A mandatory registration requirement is holding at least one bank account with a Hungarian bank.
The company name must end with a word, phrase, or abbreviation reflecting its legal form.
The minimum share capital for a KFT-type company is HUF 3,000,000.
At least one director (managing director) is required. As a general rule, there are no requirements regarding the director's Hungarian citizenship or residency. Additional requirements may arise for a non-resident director when opening a bank account and undergoing KYC.

A limited liability company (KFT) is the most convenient form for doing business in Hungary. Before its registration, a request must be submitted to the company register to check the availability of the name. Once the name is confirmed, preparation of the corporate documents begins.
Every founder of the company is required to provide a passport and a document confirming their place of residence (for example, a utility bill).
Before registering a company in Hungary, a meeting of the participants is held with a notary present, at which the founding documents are signed. After that, a bank account for the KFT company is opened at one of the Hungarian banks, into which the amount of the share capital is deposited. Once the bank confirms that the funds have been credited, the documents are submitted to the state register to complete the registration of the KFT company.
